🌼 June - monthly update

Here’s a round-up of what I’ve been doing on your behalf:

πŸ’§ Tackling Flooding & Infrastructure

Attended an Internal Drainage Board meeting to discuss ongoing maintenance and flooding concerns across the area. Continued work with Living with Water, chasing updates on the planned surface water and SuDS improvements for Bilton β€” ensuring local voices remain heard in the delivery of flood resilience projects.

🚌 Bringing Council Services to Residents

Held a Mobile Library Street Surgery in Bilton, bringing council support directly to residents. These sessions remain one of the most effective ways to listen, help, and take action on local concerns.

🧠 Supporting Children, Families & Wellbeing

Chaired the Corporate Parenting and Health & Wellbeing Committee, leading discussions to strengthen support for looked-after children and promote better health outcomes across East Riding.

Also attended the Corporate Parenting Board and joined a meeting at Burton Constable to look at the site and its heritage β€” exploring opportunities for education, inclusion, and local engagement.

🏟 Representing Our Area with Pride

Joined thousands of fans at Wembley Stadium to support Hull KR in the Challenge Cup Final β€” a proud moment for East Yorkshire sport and community spirit.

πŸ› Council Leadership & Representation

Took part in Full Council, representing the priorities and concerns of Mid Holderness residents. Also attended Skirlaugh Parish Council, maintaining close links with our parish partners.

🌐 Building a Stronger Local Voice Online

Launched my new Cllr Samantha Christon-Whyte website β€” a hub for residents to access updates, reports, and contact information more easily. This marks a step forward in transparent, accessible communication.
